When the Ladies of the Lake, otherwise known as the Oakland Women’s Rowing Club, wanted to expand their fleet with a modern version of a whale boat, they enlisted us for the project. Jim Antrim created the design, and the result was “Siren Song,” a modified replica of a 19th century New England whale boat — made lighter, faster, more stable and significantly easier to maintain. The boat also features a walk-through centerline, so no stepping over the seats.
Berkeley Marine has subsequently built a second boat from the mold, and is ready to build for other organization wanting a fun, fast, practical water craft!
