Berkeley Marine Center is located just inside the Berkeley Marina. Head for the Berkeley Marina, then enter the marina through the south breakwater entrance. The fuel dock is to your left (port). Turn into the fairway at the end of the fuel dock. There is a long side-tie dock, Z dock, on your right (starboard) where you can dock your boat. If the long dock is full, tie your boat up on the inside of the fuel dock. If arriving during business hours, stay on your boat and call the office to let us know you are here. We may have further instructions for you at that time.
If you are coming from the south, go all the way around the old Berkeley pier. It is unsafe to cut through anywhere. Remember to consult your chart for safety whenever boating in the San Francisco Bay.
A few things to note if you are coming after hours:
- Power is limited on the long dock and there are tenants in slips on the other side. Do not unplug any power cord. Be prepared to leave your boat overnight without being attached to shore power.
- Come prepared with proper fenders and dock lines. There is usually a brisk west wind of 12-18 knots by the afternoon. Secure your boat accordingly.
- The long dock is not gated and is publicly accessible, although signs discourage the public from entering. Security is good with the tenants in the Z dock slips keeping watch over the dock, but leave any valuables or boat toys (paddle boards, kayaks, bicycles, etc.) at your home slip.
